Artist Bio
For over 40 years, art has been the language she's been learning to speak. Working primarily in acrylic on wood canvas, she uses a palette knife to carve out crude lines, brute forms, and a primitive aesthetic that feels both raw and intentional. Her process is layered - literally. She builds multiple underpaintings and then reveals them through sanding and etching, inviting history to emerge through each exposed stratum.
Her Work pulls from the inner landscape of meditation, breathwork, and the beautiful logic of quantum physics. She is also deeply inspired by the warm charm of old Americana - vintage signs, folk art, and the imperfect stories held in weathered surfaces.
She loves weaving in repeating patterns that resonate on a sub-conscious level. The human brain is wired to find pleasure in predictability and order among chaos. She plays with the "Same except effect", a thought that combines the idea of exclusion (except), with influence/result (effect), and how one variables unique impact creates a different outcome (the same except different).
There is a levity to her pieces, a sense of not taking herself too seriously, even as her work remains deeply personal. Every painting carries her energy, but she creates them knowing they will transmute - be changed and charged by the person who resonates with it. A collaboration and continuation...

Infusing spaces with soul
She wants people to feel the energy of her pieces, to let it infuse their space with feeling and soul. Spaces hold energy, and Kellie is honored when someone resonates with her art enough to make it a part of their daily landscape. Her art aims to transform environments into spaces with soul.

History and ancient knowledge
What sets her art apart is her love for creating history within each painting. By building up layers and then distressing them, she aims to create pieces that feel like they hold ancient knowledge. She strives to design art that makes people feel like they have a cool, history-rich space to share.
